Tips for best results
- Use “N evenly spaced frames” with 12–24 for a quick overview of a clip.
- Limit the time range to the moment you need for faster extraction.
- Choose PNG for screen recordings with text and JPG for camera footage.
- Extraction is capped at 500 frames per run to protect memory.
How frames are decoded
The video is read directly from the file on your device with the Mediabunny library and decoded with the browser's hardware-accelerated WebCodecs API. Only the requested timestamps are decoded, so extracting a few frames from a long video is quick.
Timestamps in file names
Each image is named with its sequence number and time, for example clip-07-1m23.50s.jpg, so you can find the exact moment in the original video later.
