The love calculator is a classic playground and party game: type two names and get a compatibility percentage with a cheeky message. FreePDF’s version is consistent – the same pair always gives the same result, whichever order you type them – and includes the traditional FLAMES game (Friends, Lovers, Affectionate, Marriage, Enemies, Siblings). It is just for fun, and the names never leave your browser.
Common uses
- Have a laugh with friends at a sleepover or party.
- Break the ice on a group chat or game night.
- Add a playful moment to a Valentine’s Day card or post.
- Compare celebrity couples or fictional characters.
- Entertain kids learning to spell names.
Tips for best results
- Try nicknames versus full names – the score changes!
- Remember that the order of names does not matter.
- Accents and spaces are ignored, so “José” and “Jose” score the same.
- Screenshot the result to share it in a chat.
- Do not base real decisions on it – it is a game.
How the score is made
The calculator removes spaces, accents and punctuation, sorts the two names so their order does not matter, and runs them through a hashing function that turns any text into a number. That number is mapped to a percentage from 1 to 100 and a matching playful message. Nothing random is involved, which is why the result is repeatable – the fun is in trying different spellings and nicknames.
The FLAMES game
FLAMES is a pen-and-paper game played in schools around the world. Write both names, cross out the letters they share, and count the letters left. Then count around the word FLAMES by that number, crossing out the letter you land on each time, until one letter remains: Friends, Lovers, Affectionate, Marriage, Enemies or Siblings. The calculator plays it for you with exactly those traditional rules.
Real compatibility
Psychologists who study relationships point to things like shared values, good communication, trust, kindness and how couples handle conflict – none of which can be read from a name. Treat the score as a conversation starter, not advice. If a result makes someone feel bad, laugh it off and try their middle name; if you are thinking about a real relationship, talk to the person instead.

Frequently asked questions
Is the love calculator accurate?
No – it is entertainment. The score is calculated from the letters of the names, not from anything about real compatibility.
Why do the same names always give the same score?
The score comes from a fixed calculation on the names, so it is consistent – and the order of the names does not matter.
Is my data saved?
No. Names are processed only in your browser and are not stored or sent.
Can I use any language?
Yes – names in any alphabet work, though FLAMES uses letter matching that suits alphabetic scripts best.
Can I get 100%?
Some name pairs do! Keep trying spellings.
